Dallas gets new meat
Remakes are the new original for television, with 90210, Melrose Place and Charlie’s Angels soon to be joined on the small screen by a new-look Dallas.
The first cast shot (pictured) and trailer have been released by American network TNT in recent days, showcasing the hot new talent joining the staples of the original series about a Texas oil baron.
Former Desperate Housewives gardener Jesse Metcalfe will be adding his pecs *cough* acting skills to the new incarnation, alongside newcomers Brenda Strong, Jordana Brewster and Josh Henderson.
Series originals Larry Hagman (JR), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) and Patrick Duffy (Bobby) will return for the resurrected show.
After 357 episodes, a spin-off show, a 1996 TV movie and an attempt to adapt it to the big screen with John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez, the show has officially had more lives than its villainous lead character, JR.
Will Dynasty be the next to suffer a remake?
