De Rossi to star in DeGeneres-produced sitcom

US network ABC ordered a half-hour pilot for new sitcom produced by Ellen DeGeneres and starring Portia De Rossi.

The multicamera comedy The Smart One, is one of two projects DeGeneres has in development, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It centres on a successful woman who begrudginly goes to work for her less-brainy but more popular sister – a former beauty queen, weather girl and now mayor of a big city.

De Rossi will reportedly play one of the two sisters.
