Dolly does Ellen

Dolly Parton debuted her new single Together You and I with a live performance on Friday’s epsiode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The 65-year-old looked typically fabulous in a figure-hugging short pant suit as she delivered a pitch-perfect rendition of the ruthlessly cheerful country anthem.

This has to be the icon’s catchiest single since the Academy Award-nominated Travelin’ Thru – from the movie Transamerica – and is pretty much impossible to sit through without a smile on your face.

It’s an impressive first taste of her new album Better Day, which hits stores on June 28.

Dolly has said she wanted to write an uplifting album to help people get through hard times and if Together You and I is any indication, she will have no trouble achieving that goal.
