Lana Del Rey cancels Australian tour

Singer Lana Del Rey has cancelled her Australian tour with dates to be “re-scheduled” according to her touring agency.

“Due to unprecedented international demand, Lana Del Rey’s forthcoming Australian tour dates are to be re-scheduled. More extensive dates will be announced soon,” a media release from the agency said.

“All ticket holders will be given refunds and priority booking for new dates.”

The re-scheduling follows flack for the Video Games singer over her live performance on Saturday Night Live which was labelled “nervous” and “awkward” by critics.

Her new album, Born To Die, debuted at #1 on the UK album charts and is currently sitting atop the iTunes Australia album charts in this, its first week of release.

Refunds for the February 28 show at Oxford Art Factory and March 3 show at The Toff in Town will be processed shortly, according to the statement.

“If you purchased your ticket online or over the phone through moshtix your ticket will be automatically refunded back to your credit card/PayPal account. If you purchased your ticket from a moshtix retail outlet you will need to return to the outlet with your ticket to receive your refund,” they advise.

“Lana is looking forward to her maiden Australian visit and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused.”
