Neil Patrick Harris announces marriage to David Burtka via Twitter
HIS professional life might be a giant song and dance but the love life of the How I Met Your Mother and Hedwig and the Angry Inch Broadway musical star Neil Patrick Harris is a much more private ordeal.
In a simple Twitter picture posted on overnight, 41 year-old Patrick Harris announced that he has married his long time partner David Burtka in an intimate ceremony in Italy.
The tweet instantly went viral and dominated entertainment news headlines soon after.

Presided over by How I Met Your Mother’s principal director Pamela Fryman, the wedding also included a performance by Elton John.
The couple had been engaged for five years and are parents to twins Harper and Gideon, who also took part in the celebration.
