Rug experiment something to chew on
After making serious waves with her last single, UK pop sensation Florrie is back with the curiously titled Experimenting With Rugs.
Probably best known as Xenomania’s drummer (the production team behind hits for Kylie, Dannii and Cher), the 22-year-old former model is gearing up to release her second EP on June 14.
The lead single is another icy dose of subtle electronic pop that should appeal to fans of Robyn and Roisin Murphy, without ever bothering the upper reaches of the charts.
Florrie has also delivered a typically stylish video that draws inspiration from ’90s fashion photography and Madonna’s Justify My Love period.
It will be interesting to see if the understated musician can carve out a niche for herself in the Lady Gaga-dominated pop world.
