Florrie moves into spotlight

Blog sensation Florrie has been winning over pop fans for the past year with a string of free tunes, but she’s finally ready to charge for her catchy brand of icy eletro-pop.

Probably best known as Xenomania’s drummer (the production team behind hits for Kylie, Dannii and Cher), the 22-year-old former model is hoping to cause some chart damage of her own with Begging Me.

The song is a typically sleek and understated Xenomania production that takes a couple of listens to fully appreciate.

It should appeal to fans of Robyn and Róisín Murphy and will no doubt get a big boost for the fun video (below), which pays tribute to Robert Palmer’s ’80s classic Simply Irresistible.

Begging Me is available to download from iTunes now.

After releasing so much free music, it will be interesting to see if her fans are willing to make the leap and spend $2.19 on her new track.

Florrie’s second EP is due for release on May 26.
