Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender artists living in the Blue Mountains are invited to submit works for the fourth annual Bent Art Exhibition to be held over the June 2008 long weekend. The exhibition has grown to become a major event on the queer art calendar, attracting interest from different parts of the state. Opening night is the place to be in the Blue Mountains, a vibrant coming together of a diverse community with entertainment and catering. The Bent Art Exhibition will be held at the Katoomba Civic Centre on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend from Friday 6 June to Monday 9 June. Details on [email protected] or phone 0404 474 907.

IT’S BACK

Non-Scene is back in Sydney on Saturday 26 April with DJs Tobin Saunders, Ben Drayton and Stephen Allkins. The event is at The Loft in UTS and starts at 9pm. There will also be a show by Trash Vaudeville. Tickets start at $20 plus booking fee.

FOOD WEEK

Balmain and Rozelle are ready to shake it up with the very first Balmain Rozelle Food Week. An outstanding program of events, tastings, talks, cooking classes, food demonstrations and exclusive one-off highlights await, giving Sydney something to really talk about. An event not to be missed is The Garden of Earthly Delights, a triptych closing to Food Week featuring the Restaurant at 3 Weeds, Restaurant Sojourn and Il Piave, on Sunday 27 April at Restaurant Sojourn. RIVERSIDE THEATRES

The Riverside Theatres will be presenting the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s emerging artists ensemble, ACO2, at Riverside Theatres on Friday 16 May at 7.30pm for one performance only. The night will be led by principal second violinist Helena Rathbone and features the cream of young Australian musicians selected to work with mentors from the Australian Chamber Orchestra. BACK IN SYDNEY
