The tribes from all over Australia are getting their outfits together for what will be one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties of the year – Tropical Fruits.
Beyond the hustle and bustle of the city streets lies the GLBT community in the heart of the far north coast of NSW.
The NYE party is going to be massive and the perfect platform for lesbian singer-songwriter Paige Ridgeway to step into the spotlight and make people take notice.
“I am totally psyched about Fruits. It’s an event I look forward to each year, and to have been invited to perform this year is fantastic,” she said.
“I’m going to be singing a vocal piece that I’ve written to a Kid Kenobi track. It kind of leapt out at me while I was listening to it one day with the Troppo gig in mind. There’s a lot of energy in it and it’s sexy.”
Paige lives on the north coast and has been gracing the stage with her authentic and original mix of heartfelt vocals and boundary-pushing performance art for more than 10 years.
Paige said she works hard at getting herself thrown out of amateur talent contests country-wide, by performing in an uncompromising style that stays true to her evolution as an artist.
“I’m going to put all of myself into my performance, and my hope is that people will feel that and it will impact them,” she said.
“I think what makes a performance memorable is a really personal thing.
“Tropical Fruits is the result of a bunch of incredibly talented and motivated people working very hard to put on parties of an international standard in one of the most beautiful places on earth.”
