Billed as the international Queen of Burlesque, Dita Von Tease will be arriving in Sydney on 28 April to present a $100,000 cheque at Myer Sydney City in the Pitt Street Mall to the Bobby Goldsmith Foundation on behalf of the M.A.C. AIDS fund. The first 100 people to buy M.A.C. VIVA Glam lipstick to support the cause between now and 27 April will be invited to come along and meet the former wife of Marilyn Manson.

RAINBOW LABOR

Rainbow Labor will be hosting a forum on gay, lesbian and transgender law reform at this year’s ALP National Conference on Saturday 28 April. The conference will be held at Pyrmont Community Centre on the corner of Mount and John Streets at 1pm. Senator Joe Ludwig (shadow attorney-general) and Louise Pratt (ALP WA Senate candidate) will be guest speakers. For more details email [email protected].

STRAND ARCADE AND UNICEF JOIN FORCES

The Strand Arcade in Pitt Street Mall has launched a collection of garments created by Australian fashion designers to raise funds for UNICEF projects to help children affected by HIV/AIDS. Each designer’s creation incorporates a ball of blue string, a symbol of unity. The exhibition has already started and ends on 13 May. For details see www.strandarcade.com.au.

FEAST CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

Feast Festival and the Media Resource Centre will present the entire four-year program of the internationally acclaimed I Can See Queerly Now film project. This unique event on Saturday 19 May is a chance to look back at one of the most successful short film-making initiatives in the country. FOUR SEASONS

The Pollys Club is holding a Four Seasons party on Saturday 28 April at the Marrickville Town Hall, corner of Marrickville and Petersham Roads. Pollys is a non-profit organisation which raises funds for Sydney’s gay charities. The party starts at 7pm and tickets are $20 or $15 concession -“ bookings are advised.
