New president for PLWHA
People Living with HIV/AIDS Victoria will elect a new president this week after David Wain announced he will stand down from the position.
Work commitments were cited as the reason for Wain’s decision. His term as president was short-lived -” he was elected in October last year.
Wain was involved in a new strategic plan for the organisation during his time.
A board meeting to appoint a new president was held yesterday and an announcement is expected this week.
PLWHA Victoria is an advocacy, education and support group for people living with HIV. Vice-president Paul Baines has been acting president.
