Open Doors Youth Service will hold a queer youth festival in Brisbane on April 21.

The LGBT youth support organisation for people aged 12-24 will host the free event in Captain Burke Park (under the Storey Bridge) at Kangaroo Point from noon-6pm.

Queeriosity will feature live bands, interactive workshops, market and information stalls, as well as discussion groups all afternoon.

A special ‘Chill-Out Zone’ will be erected for attendees to bring a blanket, meet new people and listen to live performances from Brisbane’s up-and-coming young musicians.

Performers include The Boys, the Mouldy Lovers, Just Lizi and Sleeping Cities.

The event will be strictly drug- and alcohol-free.

Open Doors offers services including suicide prevention, peer mentoring, drop-in days, Indigeous queer programs and the Reconnect Program which helps young homeless LGBT people find accommodation.
