She’s A Winner Baby! Drag Race Down Under Vs The World Crowns Our New Reigning Queen

After eight glorious weeks, Drag Race Down Under Vs The World has crowned the brand-new queen of the mother-tucking universe!
While it could have been any of our fabulous final four, ultimately it came down to just two queens in the final lip sync battle for the crown.
And, of course, they delivered a performance that made guessing a winner impossible.
Drag Race Down Under Vs The World crowns a winner
Like many final episodes in the Drag Race franchise, the Drag Race Down Under Vs The World finale was all about celebrating rather than critiquing our remaining queens.
The result was a wholesome, camp and high-energy finale that allowed all four queens to shine.
Before they kicked off the main challenge, the queens competed in a hilarious game of “wig snatch” — a great way to set the tone for the episode before they moved on to their final challenge.
M1ss Jade So, Art Simone, Vybe and Michael Marouli were tasked by Michelle with their finale challenge: performing to the original song Get Down, including writing their own lyrics and pulling off their most difficult choreography to date.
However, while the girls prepared, it wouldn’t be a finale without a good ol’ Aussie chinwag with Michelle Visage, as each of the remaining girls spilled on their time on the show.
While we’re all used to the traditional Michelle/RuPaul final chat, there’s something about the one-on-one energy Michelle brings to her chats with the girls that makes them all the more special.
In what seems like only moments, the girls are whisked onto the main stage, where, as expected, they deliver a flawless performance of Get Down that has the judges gagged.
The icing on the cake?
The final runway looks.
M1ss Jade So takes everyone’s breath away with her incredible golden glamour, but she’s not to be outdone by Michael Marouli and her incredible golden silhouette (which takes a team of three to get her back onto a seat in Untucked).
Our Aussie girls turn out their own unique looks, with Art Simone delivering a truly Art look, full of colour and glam and a nod to her signature style and Vybe looking glamourous as always.
Despite the celebration and joy of a fantastic season, Michelle is tasked with culling our final four down in preparation for the final lip sync.
It’s an incredibly gracious Vybe who is first to learn her fate as she steps away, but not before pouring her heart out to Michelle and thanking her for changing her life.
Following her departure, as we anticipate a three-way lip sync showdown, Michelle reveals it is time for one more queen to go home.
After revealing that Art Simone will proceed to the final lip sync, she tragically tells M1ss Jade So that it is once again not her time. Unlike Vybe, Jade makes a truly chaotic exit as she departs the main stage, leaving Art, Michael and the judges in hysterics as she refuses to exit to the side of the stage, instead forcing her way through the back screen.

With just one chance left to prove themselves, Michael Marouli and Art Simone pull out all the stops in their final lip sync to RuPaul’s song Adrenalin. Both queens deliver a dynamic, energetic and often humorous take on the song.
And just like that, there is nothing left for Michelle to do except crown our winner. As Lazy Susan takes to the stage to hand over the crown, Michelle reveals Michael Marouli as the very first winner of Drag Race Down Under Vs The World.
A breathless and clearly emotional Michael has one thing to say: “This is for anyone who ever dared to have a dream. To my down under sisters and my international goddesses, I love you all! UK Hun!”
“I’m so proud of myself. This has been a lifelong dream realised, and I’ve worked so hard for this. The UK are gonna be so proud, especially in the northeast. Things like this don’t happen to people like me.”
Michael walks away with the AUD $50,000 cash prize and the bragging rights as the first-ever queen of Drag Race Down Under Vs The World.
