Who Will Win Drag Race Down Under Vs The World?

Next week is the grand finale, and it’s safe to say that everyone is in contention for the crown, despite what you may think.

So, let’s take a look at who could win Drag Race Down Under Versus the World in next week’s grand finale.

Drag Race Down Under Versus the World Grand Finale Approaches

The scorecard at the end of episode seven of Drag Race Down Under Versus the World is tight.

To be fair, Vybe is the underdog with only one win, whilst M1ss Jade So is sitting pretty with three. Meanwhile, Michael Marouli and Art Simone are tied with four wins each.

It’s safe to say that anything could happen when we reach the grand finale next week.

Episode seven was another joyous instalment, as we saw the makeover challenge return once again, with all five queens giving it their all for their very excited makeover subjects.

After a tough competition, Art Simone and Michael Marouli came out on top once again, earning their fourth win each and essentially tying for first place—if we’re going by points.

Michael ultimately emerged as the episode’s champion, winning the lip sync against Art following their hilariously cute and camp Spice Girls rendition, complete with synchronised choreography. She then tearfully chose to send LaLa Ri home.

But let’s be fair: LaLa Ri seemed pretty happy to be going anyway.

That joyous wonder from the USA had clearly enjoyed her time on the show. She made it clear that, whether she stayed or went home, she was incredibly happy with what she had achieved during her run Down Under.

Next week, we enter the finale, where we will see all four of these fantastic and entertaining queens go head-to-head to determine who will take home the crown and the $50,000 prize.

It’s important to acknowledge that every one of them, regardless of how many wins they have under their belts, is an incredibly talented queen.

Each of them was invited back because she had something special to show. Regardless of whether they placed in the top or the bottom, they have all brought colour, life and vibrant energy to this season.

We can’t wait to see one of these four queens take it home. So, who could it be?

Art Simone — Drag Race Down Under Season One

Art has had an incredibly strong run this season. After placing safe in the first episode, she went on to secure three consecutive challenge wins, leaving some fans wondering whether anybody else would even get a chance at the crown.

But there has been something special about what Art has brought to this season. In season one, she brought pure, unbridled passion. She was desperate to win and wanted to give every part of her soul to prove herself—and that was amazing to watch.

What she has truly proven in Down Under Versus the World, however, is that she is one of the smartest competitors ever to walk into the workroom. We don’t simply mean that Art is good at drag. Art understands the audience, the show and how it works. She also knows how to have a good time while making the right choices.

Art entered this competition with a thoughtful approach, considering how to build relationships, produce good drag, enjoy herself and make some exceptionally smart decisions. That has been evident both inside and outside the show, from the way she has conducted and promoted herself to the way she has supported her fellow queens. She has chosen to lift everybody up and bring a sense of community and love to Drag Race Down Under Versus the World.

That alone makes Art deserving of the win—not to mention the fact that she has four victories under her belt. Out of seven episodes, that’s pretty impressive. Although there was one low placement in the mix, she has never found herself in the bottom.

It’s easy to see why Art has a very strong chance of taking home the crown.

Michael Marouli — RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season Five

Michael Marouli was an unstoppable force on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season five, making it all the way to the finale and finishing as a runner-up.

She entered Drag Race Down Under Versus the World ready to take on the competition and show us what she was made of.

She did exactly that from the moment she walked into the workroom, taking out the season’s first win in episode one.

Michael brought infectious energy throughout the entire season. She was funny, camp and creative, delivered stunning looks, excelled in the challenges and genuinely connected with her fellow queens. Everything she did this season was worth celebrating, and she proved time and again that she is a fantastic and fierce competitor.

Not only did she win the first episode, but she also continued through the competition without receiving a bottom or low placement. She even came close to winning the design challenge before romping home with victories in the final three challenges: the rapping roast, the acting challenge and the makeover challenge alongside Art Simone.

Michael has proven that there is nothing she can’t do—and that she is willing to give everything she has, with plenty of heart, soul and fantastic British humour along the way.

She is a wonderful representative of her country. Although this may be Drag Race Down Under Versus the World, Michael is proudly representing the world, and she would be a truly deserving winner of the title and its accompanying $50,000 prize.

M1ss Jade So — Drag Race Philippines Season Two

Another finalist is M1ss Jade So, who finished in joint third/fourth place on Drag Race Philippines season two.

M1ss Jade So came to Drag Race Down Under Versus the World with a wild, wacky and lovable energy that has made everybody—from her fellow cast members to the audience—fall in love with her.

She’s definitely on another planet, but she embraces it, and that’s part of what makes her so lovable. Alongside Michael Marouli, she walked straight into a win in episode one. After placing safe and then receiving a low placement following an interesting Snatch Game, she secured her second win in the next design challenge. Notably, she had also won the first design challenge, all while keeping her secret career as a design student under wraps. She then took out her third victory in the acting challenge.

The only reason we can say that she landed in the bottom in episode seven is that, with nobody declared safe, anyone who wasn’t in the top was automatically in the bottom.

Aside from that, M1ss Jade So has had an absolutely stellar run. She has been there to play the game and occasionally stir things up, all while doing everything in her own unique way.

There is everything to love about M1ss Jade So—and every chance that she could walk away with the crown.

Vybe — Drag Race Down Under Season Four

Vybe is easily one of the best narrators of both Drag Race Down Under season four and Drag Race Down Under Versus the World. Between her and Art—with their hilarious one-liners, confessionals and ability to make us laugh far too much—you simply couldn’t have had this season without Vybe.

It has, quite frankly, been a bit of a kick in the pants for this absolute Drag Race darling. After finishing as a runner-up on Drag Race Down Under season four, Vybe had high hopes for this season. The fact that she has made it to the final four once again is something she should be incredibly proud of.

The fact that she landed in the bottom several times along the way is simply one of the realities of Drag Race. Fans like to point to queens who consistently land in the bottom and claim that it makes them untalented or undeserving, but it’s simply part of how the competition works.

Someone has to be in the bottom. It doesn’t make you a terrible drag queen; it simply means that you didn’t win that week and that the challenge may not have played to your strengths.

For Vybe, that has happened more often than any of us wanted to see for this absolute star. But you can’t keep a good bitch down, as Vybe would tell you. She’s still here, and she has fought her way to the Drag Race Down Under Versus the World finale.

The fact that she has only one win shouldn’t mean that she can’t take out the competition. Anything can happen in the Drag Race franchise, and there is no reason why Michelle couldn’t decide, at the end of the grand finale, to crown Vybe as the winner.

The only person who gets to decide whether she is deserving is Michelle Visage—and she will be the one to make that call.

If Vybe is the queen who takes home the crown, we can’t wait to see it.

Ultimately, all four queens have brought something incredible to this competition, and they have made it truly watchable. Their fellow sisters formed a wonderful cast, and the entire show has proven that introducing this format—with our Down Under girls front and centre—was the perfect decision.

Here’s hoping for a fifth season of Drag Race Down Under and a second season of Versus the World.
