Fitzroy same-sex dance studio Dance Cats is calling on all movers and shakers to hit the dancefloor this month.
Dance Cats will throw its doors open to newcomers on Saturday, July 16 for people who want to learn some fancy footwork, but have been too afraid to hit the dancefloor.
Dance Cats’ Mama Cat Anny Salerni — who has 14 years theatrical dance experience — said the dance party event is open to all levels and she has promised “nonstop dancing, giveaways and dance games”.
Students from beginners, intermediate and advanced levels are encouraged to attend. Non-dancers are also welcome to watch or participate.
During the session, Salerni will teach easy steps to get first-timers started and comfortable on the floor.
Entry to the dance party event is $10/$12 and includes nibbles and wine.
Dance Cats has also recently expanded across the river, with Sunday afternoon ballroom and Latin classes at The Space in Prahran.
