A brand new year and a brand new me. Wow! Hasn’t it started with a bang!
I took the night off for NYE and did the whole boy thing with some new friends who like me both in drag and out of it! We spent the evening at Campbelltown WTF and got up close and personal with the locals and the fireworks. It was nice to be included in the whole family thing and to be accepted for who I was even though they weren’t my family. It’s the first time I’ve actually enjoyed myself unlike previous years when I spent it alone on the couch.
By now most people will know that we have reduced the amount of social dances from 18 per year to 12 per year, running one a month at the two different venues alternately with Heaven starting back this Saturday January 19. I’m looking for some new talent to perform at our social nights in Western Sydney and give western Sydney queens a place to perform. We present Frocked Up on this night in January with a talent quest with a difference. Drag Queens and Drag Kings only from western Sydney are allowed to enter with cash prizes and paid gigs for the three finalists. This will encourage developing their drag and performance skills in a one-off night on the 19th January. For more information, please go to our website
With so many things popping up in western Sydney I have recently discovered Portia Turbo has stormed western Sydney with Turbo Trivia nights with our very own singing sensation Laydee Kinmee taking on the role as hostess every Tuesday night at the Penrith Hotel, High Street, Penrith from 7 pm. It is also on at the Parramatta RSL on Tuesday night, the King Park Tavern in Blacktown on Thursday night from 7 pm and Portia has also covered Sunday night at Austral Bowling Club from 6 pm.
Who said there is nothing to do in western Sydney? There is heaps to do.
Many changes will take place this year and it’s already started. A brand new night in the west is coming soon by Drag It Up Productions.
Milestones will be reached next month with column 64 due. Thank goodness to all the PA’s that I’ve gone through, couldn’t have done it without you. So eyes out online 14 February for my next instalment which will include all the Fair day gossip .
Will I or will I not do drag is the big question?
Can you believe in just over four weeks Mardi Gras will be launched at Fair Day on Sunday 10 February. How time flies.
And on a last note the Queer Out West 89.3FM team would like to welcome Dizzy, Dj Sass, Danni Dyke to the mic, our new lesbian correspondents and announce that we are now On Demand/Podcast and can be heard live on Queer Out West 89.3fm (www.queeroutwest.com)
Drag Gossip: K is for Karma what goes around comes around. Remember that Girls and Boys not mentioning any names it has happened to all of us in the past. I could also say people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones.
So for now I leave you with my resolutions – what’s yours?
1. Stop having sex with bisexual/straight/trannie-chasing men.
2. Stand up for myself more and not allow people to walk over me.
3. Try & discover the difference between work colleagues and real friends.
4. Exercise more.
Until next time gorgeous Love BB xxx
