Gong Guys back in the swing of things

The second HIV positive gay men’s retreat returns to the foothills of the Illawarra, March 23 – 25. This weekend will be an invigorating and fun-filled program structured around living well with HIV.

There are a few spaces still available, so if you live in southern New South Wales and this is the first you’ve heard of it and are interested in attending, please contact [email protected] as soon as possible to find out more.

UNITY is hosting its first community dance party of 2012 on Saturday, April 21 from 8pm at Beaton Park Tennis Club. The dance’s theme is the Black and White Ball. As usual the $10 entry fee will also get you entry to Castro’s and the bus heading there at 12.30am.

Gong Guys are back in their regular meeting cycle after a short break over the holidays. They are a social and support group for gay and bi guys over 18 in the Wollongong area. Gong Guys meet on the first and third Saturday of each month from 7pm at the ACON Illawarra Community Space. Hume Phoenix is a social support group for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and intersex (GLBTIQ) people, and their family and friends, living in the Albury-Wodonga region. They put on social and community events for their members, as well as providing valuable health and social support while advocating for acceptance of diversity within their region.

To celebrate and honour our community elders, ACON Illawarra will host a picnic at McCabe Park, Wollongong on Tuesday, March 20 from 11am, as part of Seniors Week.
