Parents and friends of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the Newcastle region are invited to meet other parents and friends of GLBT people on Thursday, February 3 at a guest presentation by Shelley Argent.

Shelley is PFLAG’s national spokesperson and featured on the ABC’s Australian Story ‘Mum’s The Word’ in 2010. She has been named the 2011 Queensland Senior Australian of the Year. RSVP Lisa Ronneberg on 4927 6808, [email protected]

LLINC is a social group for lesbians of all ages. LLINC organises weekly pool, picnics, dances, cooking nights, film nights, coffee mornings and more. The next social pool night is Sunday, January 30 from 6pm at the Mayfield Hotel. Ph: 0416 703 173 or [email protected]

The Newcastle Guys Group is a social group for GBT men in the Newcastle region.  Next events are Facebook and dinner on February 2, a movie night on February 16, tenpin bowling on March 2. For more details, call ACON on 4927 6808.

Mixed Froots is a monthly after-work function providing the opportunity to socialise and network on the last Friday of the month. The next Mixed Froots is Friday, January 28 at Boulevarde on Beaumont, Beaumont St, Hamilton, from 5.30pm.

ACON will be at Hunter TAFE and University of Newcastle O-Weeks in early February.  Drop by the ACON and the Queer Collective stalls for information, safe-sex resources, and a chat.
