Get ready for spring

The Birds and The Birds is ACON’s safe-sex and sexual health booklet for same-sex attracted young women.

ACON Hunter, in partnership with the Newcastle Youth Development Officer, will launch the booklet on Friday, September 17 at Suspension Café in Hamilton. Kicking off at 7pm, there will be free entertainment, games, prizes and yummy food. Local stand-up comedian Hannah Gissane will host the evening for women aged 16–25.

The warmer weather provides a perfect opportunity to get your walking shoes on and join ACON’s Walking Group every Wednesday from 9am–10am. For more info, contact Cath Adams at ACON on 4927 6808.

You can also get ready for spring by dropping in to ACON Hunter at 129 Maitland Rd, Islington for a sexual health check. You can get a free, confidential check every Thursday from 1pm.

The Northwest Rainbow Connection Inc aims to enhance the health, wellbeing and social life of the gay and lesbian community in the north-west and New England regions. It has many events in September.
