I’m a supermodel, get me out of here!

The last few months have been overwhelming for me as I was nominated for two awards in the last couple of months. See! I am a supermodel!

I was nominated for an LGBT Community Honour Award 2011 in Media/Arts/Entertainment and also for the Queen Of Hearts Award at this year’s DIVAs.

I’ve always said it’s not about winning, it’s about being acknowledged for what you do. This is a prime example that if you work hard, you can achieve anything. Not many people in western Sydney get acknowledged for their contribution and achievements and it’s great to see change is in the air.

Talking about change, it’s been a rocky road for Queer Out West’s home, 89.3FM community radio station. After receiving an eviction notice from council, I am pleased to announce we have secured new premises which we are moving into in 2012.

I’m so glad, after all our protests, meetings and rallies, that Queer Out West will be able to continue to broadcast and support the LGBT community of Western Sydney. If you can help in any way, such as advertising on air, please contact the studio at [email protected] as it will cost a pretty penny to relocate in such a short time.

As if producing Queer Out West wasn’t enough…

If venues were men, I’d be known as the biggest whore in the west as now I’m coordinating a total of three! Am I insane or just a glutton for punishment?

I am now the coordinator at Canley Vale’s newest LGBT-friendly night, ‘It’s Showtime’ at Richards On The Park, the last Saturday of the month (November 26) from 9pm, shows at 10.30 and 11.30. This fabulous new night is opening up the stage to the drag queens of western Sydney, as well as strippers, games and much more!

The drinks and drags are cheap but entry is even cheaper — it’s FREE!

That means you’ll have lots of pretty pennies to donate at our ‘Red Party for World AIDS Day’ at Kaleidoscope Social Dance the following Saturday (December 3) at the Parramatta Golf Club, Park Parade from 8.30pm. An array of fabulous people will donate their time to help promote awareness and raise money for World AIDS Day. All proceeds on the night go to ACON Western Sydney.

If you’d like to like be part of World AIDS Day on December 1 or contribute to fundraising, you can volunteer to sell red ribbons at your workplace, social event or on the day. Contact www.redribbonday.org.au

Drag gossip: Which one of my daughters should have considered wearing her summer pyjamas to DIVA as she spent most of the night outside sweating like a piglet and missed out on a nomination for best-dressed?

The other one wore off-the-rack due to her ‘designer’ letting her down at the last minute. She was forced to drown her sorrows with free wine and spent the night screaming, abusing people, smashing bottles on the table, losing control of her bodily fluids and demanding attention as she thinks she’s a celebrity like Momma!

Until next time, gorgeous! Luv BB
