Swanning around in Perth

Swanning around in Perth

I was at the computer researching for a new show-” OK, surfing porn -” ALRIGHT, I was on the lounge doing absolutely nothing, when out of the blue, I received a call from Man about town in Perth, Israel. Recounting a conversation we had over a year ago, he asked if I would be interested in flying to Perth that weekend to perform at his 30th birthday party, and be treated like a movie star the whole way.

I jumped at the chance without considering that I would be going without sleep for almost three days. You’re only young once, and while I’m desperately holding on to the youth I have, I thought, Why not?.

Doing a double on Friday, from the Colombian to the Midnight Shift, exhausted already, I quickly headed up to see the opening night of Fake upstairs at the Shift. My schedule only allowed me to stay for the show, but that was all I needed.

The show was fabulous, with faces, dresses and hair glowing so much you could probably see them from Perth. And I was not the only one to enjoy it with the crowd screaming in excitement. Great work girls -” see you Friday for the second show.

From the side of the stage straight into a cab, I was soon frantically packing my bags for the trip. With departure from Sydney airport at 6am there was just enough time for an hour’s nanna nap to be free for a full day in Perth before performing that evening.

Briefly rested, I found myself at the check-in counter to be told my flight was delayed. Departure from 8 to 10am now -” just enough time to have a Macca’s breakfast.

Ten became 12, then 12.30 as we were herded on to the plane. We made it to the runway only to be driven back in and asked to leave the plane due to continual engineering issues. We were promised a new plane from the international terminal. From a 2pm departure, it became 3, finally on the plane at 4pm, arriving at 6.30pm Perth time.

It was straight in front of the make-up mirror and into a lady I became. The party was on a boat down the Swan River, and was absolutely gorgeous. Then it was off to Perth hotspot Connections to see the Supermodel show, starring some of Perth’s leading showgirls, Dita, Delta Force, Giselle, Val Uptuous, Glamapuss, Venemous and someone who had me transfixed, Sheila Man.

Straight after the show I headed back to my room with enough time to order room service and have a quick kip before being at the airport at 9am.

Such a quick visit to a beautiful city, I can’t wait to get back for a longer trip. Thank you to all the girls and locals who looked after me and Happy Birthday, Israel.
