The Burdekin Hotel is a multi-level LGBTQIA+ experience on Oxford Street. Their ethos is to provide a safe, welcoming and fun environment, no matter identity, sexual orientation, or kinks! Their iconic rooftop bar hosts Spritz or Swallow, a weekly Sunday bottomless brunch with drag entertainment. They’re open every day through Sydney WorldPride with a huge program of events.

Kicking off the Queer Olympics: three super-sized special editions of the popular LET’S GET QUIZZICAL trivia night. Hosted over three Thursdays by Glitter King KevinInTheCity and Mulan, entry is free, with huge prizes valued from $500 – $1000.

MEAT DISTRICT is a party and place for big boys and their admirers. Launching 22 February, this body-positive bear-loving highlight will be throbbing with house, dance and pop music for seven hours in the Main Bar from 7pm.

Headlined by Sparkle is Back on March 1 and hosted by The Chic Coach, Logan Dunstan and Bettie Blackheart, PHOENIX is a 6-hour party playing the best of 3 decades of club music from the 90s, and a joy-filled tribute to the queer origins of electronic music.

The Burdekin’s final send-off to WorldPride: DIRTY DISCO, a massive 8-hour, 4-level closing party, playing house, techno, emo and pop.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
