A public hanging in Taylor Square

A public hanging in Taylor Square

An outdoor art fair will be held in Taylor Square North on October 22, in conjunction with the Oxford Arts Festival.

More than 200 artworks will be on view to the public, with live entertainment, street theatre, celebrities, guest speakers, and more than $3000 worth of prizes to be won.

There will be a prize for landscape and portraiture, with the theme being the postcode 2010 precinct. Guests will choose the winner of the People’s Choice by casting their vote on the day.

The entry fee per work is $25 which includes a canvas available at TAP Gallery. If you use your own canvas, it must be the same size (40cm x 50cm or 16” x 20”) and must be unframed for easy hanging. Artists in all media are invited to enter and all works are guaranteed to be hung.

The art fair is designed to highlight and recognise the character of the 2010 precinct. Artists are encouraged to draw inspiration from the events, people and landmarks within its confines — from The National Art School and the College of Fine Arts to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras, iconic drag queens and other local identities.
