Flinders sales hits the jackpot

The Flinders Hotel has sold for $2.815 million through Richardson and Wrench.

Sold as a leased investment, business will be operating as per usual after settlement, with no plans to modify The Flinders as the ultimate bears’ watering hole and general GLBT venue.

The 223.6 square metre property at 63-65 Flinders St was sold at public auction on 13 March.

A representative from Richardson and Wrench said the price fell slightly short of the vendor’s expectations, though both sides of the transaction seemed happy with the figure achieved.

The newly renovated hotel, which now features an extra bar and new fittings, is expected to continue operating as a key gay venue following the sale.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.
