SOME of the world’s best short films dedicated to marriage equality are being brought together in one place to help the issue here in Australia.

The folks at Queer Screen – who also give us the annual Mardi Gras Film Festival – are hosting a special Pride fundraiser for Australian Marriage Equality (AME) called Shorts for Marriage Equality.

They’ve chosen some incredibly inspiring films to screen including a new Australian short film made through Kino Sydney.

Two films that will be highlights on the night are the remarkable A Legacy of Devotion: How A Love Story Triumphed in Court. Directed by the New York Times video journalist Samantha Stark the moving and inspiring documentary tells the love story behind last June’s landmark Supreme Court ruling that made marriage equality legal throughout the United States.

Making History, was commissioned by Gaze International Film Festival in Dublin to capture the historic Irish marriage referendum, and is directed by excellent documentary filmmaker Anna Rogers.
