A community discussion night will be held this Thursday, April 26 to talk all about the controversies and successes of this year’s Mardi Gras Parade.

Two Sydney Mardi Gras representatives will be on hand to speak with the community about this year’s event and explain some of the thinking behind the inclusions and exclusions of the event.

The meeting will also cover the involvement of community groups in event alongside corporate supporters.

Speakers include a representative of the Raelian ‘banned banner’ gay group, former Mardi Gras board member Siri May, Scarlet Alliance spokesperson Jane Green, Poly Pride’s Mik Scheper and Nina Melksham and Beats Project spokesperson Richard
Capuano.

The meeting will be chaired by Scarlet Alliance’s Elena Jeffreys.

All welcome. A blessing by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will be given at 6.45pm, and speakers start at 7pm. A light super will follow discussion.

On at the Red Umbrella Room, Suite 9, 245 Chalmers Street, Redfern.

Free entry but a donation is required for supper.
