NMG wants you

Applications to be part of the 2011 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival are now open.

There are a number of exciting ways you can get involved. Produce your own event to be included in the festival.

Do you have an event that falls into the category of performing arts, comedy, visual arts, sport, youth, social and community events? If so, New Mardi Gras would love you to apply to be part of Festival 2011.

NMG is also looking for entrants to take part in season events such as literary day Queer Thinking, the Mardi Gras Gallery, and performers and shows for the Festival Bar.

They are also looking for proposals for official recovery parties, or sporting events to add to the Team Sydney sports line-up.

info: Applications close Friday September 17. To apply, visit www.mardigras.org.au/getinvolved and download the Festival Application Kit and Application Form. Details: Sam Sweedman, festival@mardigras.org.au or call 9383 0946.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
