RuPaul confirmed for Big Gay Day

RuPaul has confirmed an appearance at Brisbane’s Big Gay Day 2012 event.

The world’s first drag queen supermodel will also make a headline appearance at Sydney Mardi Gras and Melbourne’s GH Hotel during her Australian visit.

Big Gay Day is Brisbane’s annual LGBT street party which takes place at The Wickham Hotel and surrounding streets.

DJ Wayne G will also return to Big Gay Day for 2012.

Fresh from serving as DJ at the 53rd Grammy Awards in Los Angeles — the first openly gay DJ to play the prestigious party — he spent most of 2011 playing in Johannesburg, London, New Mexico, Shanghai and as a resident on the Atlantis gay cruises.

Wayne G’s production and remixing credits include tracks by Cher, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion.

INFO: Big Gay Day is on Sunday, March 11. More at www.biggayday.com.au

  1. Most trans people would rather not see Ru paul at mardi gras because of his use of the word “Tranny” which trans people find offensive- just the same way as african amercans are offended by the use of the N word. If he does appear we do not want him representing us or him using the offensive word “tranny”.
