Vroom Vroom for bears

Bears with a passion for bikes will no longer have to look on longingly at the Dykes on Bikes thanks to a new motorcycle group that’s just for the boys.

Started last month, the Bears -˜n’ Bikes are going strong, with 12 members already, but the group is still looking for more burly bikers to join their ranks.

It’s a social group with a twist of goodwill, founder Ethan Derek told Sydney Star Observer.
There will be fun monthly rides around NSW, newsletters and weekends away but I’ve also geared it towards giving within the community. We want to do our small part for the GLBT community, like charity toy runs. We’ve had other ideas for charity events as well, like holding pillion [the passenger seat on a bike] auctions, so people could place their bids and could be taken on a cruise with a bear and his gorgeous bikes.

Official rides and outings are still to be confirmed, but there is already a range of ride routes being planned for bikers and their fans.
