Logo contest stirs young folk
New efforts are being made to raise HIV awareness in young people ahead of the world’s biggest HIV/AIDS conference bound for Melbourne in 2014. International AIDS Conference 2014 organisers have launched a logo design competition to the public called ‘Make Your Idea Our Logo’ design competition. Entrants must design a logo for the conference, specifically appealing to young people.
“Almost half of all new HIV infections in the world are among people under 25,” conference co-chair Professor Sharon Lewin said. “Globally, 5.4 million young people are living with HIV and youth remains the most vulnerable group to HIV infections due to a number of reasons, including lack of information and education.”
The winner and a guest will be invited to the conference and recognised at a formal presentation.
The conference will be in Melbourne in July 2014 and is run by the International AIDS Society.
