Hotham set for Frosty Fruits

With the Mount Hotham Alpine Resort reporting regular “very good” snow conditions, the time is right for the Frosty Fruits gay and lesbian ski trip, which will see queer skiers hit Mount Hotham’s slopes from August 19 to 22.
There are still spaces available on the ski trip, with snow bunnies set to arrive on Mount Hotham from both Melbourne and Sydney.

The change from last year’s venue, Thredbo, means that the 2010 event will be more accessible. From Sydney, Hotham is only a 90-minute flight, while a chartered Frosty Fruits bus service will leave Melbourne on August 19, arriving on the mountain by lunchtime.

Mount Hotham holds the record for the highest annual snowfall of any Victorian resort over the past decade, and the 2010 season hasn’t disappointed so far. Snow has been falling continually since July, with the occasional snowstorm to thicken the powder — perfect conditions for skiing. Female skiiers can even sign up for the three-day specialty women’s program.

Of course, if you’re not a keen skier, there’s still plenty on offer over the four-day event. Daily group meals and social events including the Groomed Welcome Party, the Dinner Party at Dinner Plain, and the final night Disco Snowball party.

Prices for the all-inclusive long weekend away start at $1384.
