Amanda Lear plots club domination
Amanda Lear is hoping to reclaim her throne as the reigning Queen of Clubs with a new dance track called Chinese Walk.
The gender-bending disco diva, who first came to fame as Salvador Dalí’s muse in the 1960s before embarking on a successful pop career, recorded the song earlier this year with French producers Steve Campioni and Alain Mendiburu.
A slightly demented electro-pop anthem about the growing influence of Chinese culture is probably not what you’d expect from a woman now in her mid-’60s, but Amanda has always done things differently.
Take the video clip. The gay icon transforms from a Caucasian sex symbol (of a certain age) into a young Chinese girl with the help of some clever special effects.
