Lady Gaga’s promo madness

Lady Gaga is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to promoting Born This Way, which was released in Australia today after the album was widely leaked around the globe last week.

In addition to the usual television performances, magazine covers and interviews, Mother Monster is also plugging her third offering through Starbucks and Facebook application Farmville.

The superstar has joined forces with the world’s biggest coffee chain to launch SRCH – a digital scavenger hunt, which involves fans scanning codes posted in participating Starbucks stores.

More entertaining is Gagaville, the diva’s take on popular Facebook application Farmville.

There’s even a cute promo video (below), in which a number of farmers talk about the impact of Lady Gaga joining their neighbourhood.

The diva deserves points for effort but this could be overkill – American retailers are already stocking two million copies of Born This Way in anticipation of bumper album sales.

If she sells half that much she will be assured of snatching Taylor Swift’s recent first week sales record.

There really is no stopping Gaga-mania at the moment!
