Magic on You Tube

Olivia Newton-John’s recently released new version of her 1980 #1 hit Magic now has an accompanying video.

Filmed on May 28, it involved the help of more than 300 volunteers.

While the pop icon doesn’t feature in the clip herself, there are nods to her famous role in Xanadu with roller-skaters and elaborate set pieces.

“With Magic, John Farrar wrote a great, timeless song. No matter what decade you’re in or what you put behind it, it works, because a good song is a good song,” Newton-John recently told the Star Observer.

Produced by Steve Peach and Oxford Street DJ Dan Murphy, the remix performed well on iTunes and became the diva’s highest charting single in Australia since 1998.
