Patsy does musical theatre, sweety!

Playbill.com has reported that Joanna Lumley (aka AbFab’s Patsy) will host a three-part series for BBC Radio 2 entitled Joanna Lumley on Broadway.

She’ll be interviewing musical theatre icons such as Hal Prince, Oscar Hammerstein III, Jim Dale, Joel Grey and directors Michael Mayer and Julie Taymor.

“The series, which takes ‘a historical, theatrical and musical journey down America’s iconic Broadway,’ will debut July 11 at 10pm London time with a program titled You’ve Got to Be Carefully Taught,” Playbill reports.

Lumley said she was delighted to make her presenting debut on a subject so close to her heart.

“I adored my time on Broadway and there is nothing so romantic, so evocative and so full of human and theatrical drama as its history,” she said.

Lumley is herself a 2011 Tony nominee for her performance in La Bete.

AbFab will also be making its return this year, with three new episodes premiering in August on the BBC.
