Plummer takes home Oscar

Christopher Plummer has won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as a father embracing gay life in his senior years in Beginners.

Plummer, 82, also took home the Golden Globe award and a Screen Actors Guild award for his performance.

He is the oldest person to ever win an Oscar.

“You’re only two years older than me darling, where have you been all of my life?” Plummer asked during his acceptance speech.

“I was already rehearsing my academy acceptance speech [at birth], but it was so long ago mercifully for you I’ve forgotten it.”
