Xtina’s reality TV gig

Christina Aguilera has joined the cast of new American talent show The Voice just a day after being arrested for public intoxication.

The Dirrty singer will join Maroon 5 hunk Adam Levine and the Muppet loving Cee-Lo Green as one of three judges on the X FactorIdol type show, which premieres in the USA on April 26.

“I am so excited to be part of such a wonderful project that celebrates music and the talent behind it,” Xtina said in a statement.

“To be given the opportunity to help shape new artists’ careers and mentor them to see their dreams come to fruition is a task I welcome with open arms.

“I am so happy to be working with fellow Grammy Award winners Adam and Cee Lo as I feel there is so much we can all bring to The Voice.”

With any luck this could be the start of a big comeback for the much maligned diva, who has suffered through a flop album, panned movie and Super Bowl scandal.

Turning to reality TV helped kick start J Lo’s career – so keep your fingers crossed for Christina.

While we wait for the show to debut, watch a clip from happier times when she actually had hits (below).
