Get fit with the Frontrunners

The Frontrunners have had an eventful year, participating in many events including the Outgames in Copenhagen and the Sydney Running Festival.
Now they are preparing for other major events, including the World Masters Games in mid-October. A group is also heading to the Gay Games in Cologne next year.
The Frontrunners are always looking for new members to take part in these events.
“[We] encourage people to come to a few runs to meet the group and get a feel for things before they join up,” Frontrunners president Ben Jackson said.
Currently there are 70 members, but numbers vary depending on whether there is a major event on.
“In years when these events are on, our membership usually grows significantly as more people are looking for structured runs and the additional support of coaching,” Jackson said.
“We cater for people of all abilities, ranging from first-timers to full-time sportspeople and there is always someone to run with.”
The Frontrunners train every weekend, running 5km at Centennial Park and 12km to Bronte Beach and back.

Support the Star Observer… while you still can

LGBTQIA+ media is under threat. Queer content is censored by tech conglomerates who amplify bigotry and push out AI slop — so we receive less financial support than ever.

When our community is muzzled and intolerance intensifies, we need queer media more than ever. Your donation means we can continue paying queer journalists to write queer news.

Don’t rely on the straight lies of big tech – support Star Observer instead and donate now.
