Waxing is not nearly as painful as it sounds. Especially when it’s done professionally and the skin has to be taut when it’s treated.
Waxing feels something like pulling off a Band-Aid -” after the wax your skin can be a bit red, but it’s only temporary.
Professionals should apply a soothing lotion and if it’s done correctly there will be no peeling.
A lot depends on your tolerance level for pain and how good a technique your waxer has.
If you’re a drag artiste Burckhardt suggests aiming for a slight arch with medium thickness.
This can be enhanced with make-up for night time performances, she said.
Drag performers try too hard to impress and they tend to go over the top. They need to take care of their beauty regime but it’s not supposed to look like they try so hard.
