Marriage rally this weekend
He’s one of Australia’s favourite comedians but Adam Hills will show he thinks marriage equality is no laughing matter this weekend in Melbourne.
He will be speaking at this weekend’s Equal Love rally in front of the Victorian State Library in Melbourne’s CBD on Saturday, May 11.
Marriage equality advocates will hit the streets of Melbourne from 1pm, joined by the Greens Melbourne MP Adam Bandt and X Factor contestant and LGBTI advocate Paige Elliot Phoenix.
Hills hosted Australia’s first televised illegal mass wedding last year on his ABC show, Adam Hills in Gordon St Tonight, which saw some 40 couples go through the motions of a wedding ceremony on national television.
It follows a promising few months after Uruguay, New Zealand and France all legislated for marriage equality.
