Acclaimed Australian actor Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have come out in support of marriage equality and publicly stated their mutual decision to vote ‘yes’ in the postal survey.

In a recent tweet by Jackman, he wrote that both he and Furness would be ticking ‘yes’ on their marriage equality postal ballots.

“We believe all Australians deserve to be treated equally under the law,” he wrote.

“That’s why Deb and I are voting yes.

“[For] equality and love.”

Jackman joins a slew of other high-profile celebrities that have been part of the push for marriage equality in Australia, including Chris Hemsworth and Ellen DeGeneres.

A handful of same-sex couples in Australia recently opened up about how the postal survey had been affecting their lives, with one couples describing the current marriage debate as “f**king depressing”.
