ChillOut goes to Bollywood

Daylesford’s ChillOut Festival is set to take its cues from the Indian film genre, with it’s 2011 theme: Bollywood in the Bush. ChillOut president Michael Brady said the theme was chosen to tie into the GLBTI event’s key message of inclusion and diversity.

“Bollywood for us conjures up images of exotic cultures, ancient lands, tasty food, dance, song and of course romance,” he said. “It’s a perfect fit for ChillOut and a way of honouring GLBTI people from culturally and linguistically diverse cultures around the world.”

ChillOut, now running for more than 10 years, is planning several Bollywood-themed events over the festival, which attracts tens of thousands of visitors to Daylesford and the surrounding areas

“Bollywood in the Bush promises to be another amazing event, and we have several surprises in store,” Brady said.

“These will be unveiled progressively as we head towards the festival next March.

“In the meantime, we suggest you mark the dates in your diary, check out our website and sign up for our mailing list or join our Facebook page so you don’t miss a thing.”

Bollywood in the Bush takes place over the Victorian Labour Day long weekend, from March 11 to 14.
