Doctor Ben nominated
A Sydney doctor is among the latest to be nominated for this year’s Honour Awards for his contributions to the community.
Dr Ben Hanson was nominated for “the comfort and support that Ben offers to many in the gay and lesbian community through his very caring and intuitive approach to working with patients”.
Hanson said he was humbled to receive the nomination.
“For the past 18 years, I have enjoyed providing care and promoting health and wellbeing for our community,” he said. “Thanks so much for the recognition and consideration.”
Now in their fifth year, the Honour Awards are an annual gala fundraising event for ACON, which recognise excellence and achievement within the LGBT community.
Nominations can be submitted through the Honour Awards website in six categories – business, health, education, community, legal, political, media and cultural – and there are gifts and prizes to be won for taking part. The awards will be presented at The Ivy on Thursday 29 September.
INFO: The 2011 Honour Awards are on September 29 at The Ivy Sun Room from 7pm. Tickets are $85 from www.honourawards.com.au
