Orr re-elected

The community’s most prominent health organisation stayed the course during its annual general meeting last week, re-electing Mark Orr as president.

Orr, who took Adrian Lovney earlier this year, said he wanted to build the organisation’s membership base, both financial and participatory.

Demands on the Community Support Network and the housing program are now at stress level, ACON CEO Stevie Clayton said.

Several strategies for specific community health issues were implemented for the first time this year or were expanded, including the alcohol and other drugs program, lesbian health, rural and regional areas. Strategies for next year include mental health and ageing.
