Time for DIVAs to shine
One of Sydney’s most glamorous annual events, the DIVAs (Drag Industry Variety Awards) are upon us once again next month. The event, now in its 15th year, was officially launched at a packed Stonewall Hotel on Monday night, with live performances by a gaggle of showgirls including Minnie Cooper and Kitty Glitter, pictured. The launch, hosted by Portia Turbo, gave punters their first glimpse at this year’s DIVA poster, which features Courtney Act, Penny D, Polly Petrie and Sexy Galexy. Voting for the 2005 DIVAs will be held at the Oxford Hotel on Saturday 20 August, with the awards ceremony taking place on Monday 22 August at Star City Casino Showroom.
