Banned students speak out for marriage

Melbourne students Hannah Williams and Savannah Supski, the couple banned from attending an Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar school formal together, will speak at this month’s Equal Love rally.

The rally for marriage equality will be held next Saturday, November 20 at the State Library.

Equal Love convenor Ali Hogg said Williams will address the crowd outside the Registry Office where the march concludes.

“Anyone who wants to show their outrage at homophobic attacks in schools should come along to the demonstration.” Hogg said.

“Discrimination in the Marriage Act sends a signal that homophobia is acceptable.”

  1. To dance with the one you love is a crime under the Brumby Labor Government.

Brumby has to explain to all of us why Rob Hulls legalized such child abuse. It is Brumby and Labor that allowed Private Schools to be exempt from the Equal Opportunity Act. Brumby is using our taxes to oppress people based on their sexuality. Labor is using our taxes to carry out acts of hate. Although not all Private Schools stoop so low some do. Our teenagers have no protection. Brumby legalized bullying.

If all the law reforms that Labor says they have done results in a girl not being able to dance with the one she loves, then Labor has failed us.

Labor and Brumby still have an issue with our sexuality after all these years. Vote for a political party that does not and preference Labor way way down on your voter card.
