Young Liberals arrested

Two Liberal student leaders were arrested for public drunkenness at a student conference in Ballarat last week.

One of the pair, Gideon Roznor, is a staffer for Liberal senator Helen Kroger. He is also president of the Melbourne University Liberal Club and has publicly campaigned against the Victorian Government’s 2am lock-out for licensed venues.

According to Roznor’s Australian Liberal Student Federation biography, he is also a fierce opponent of the -œnanny state policies of both state and federal governments.

The Federation has a policy position supporting equal rights and responsibilities for all citizens, but its members were caught on film chanting -œwe’re racist, we’re sexist, we’re homophobic at a 2006 conference in Ballarat.

Roznor and the second arrested student, Francesco Cambria, have not been charged, but damages investigations are continuing.
