Performers get renting

It’s all about the seasons of love this winter at Io Myers Studio in Kensington as budding young performers from across Sydney take on the popular musical, Rent.

The show opens this Friday 27 June and will play for a limited season.

The cast includes Matthew Vella and Jonny Sainsbury, while young pop singer Carmen Smith will play the role of Mimi. Other actors include Jessica Bell, Luke Cheung, Daniel Tafeuni and Jamie-Leigh Russell.

Stagetek are the latest producers behind this restaging, with Zana Cohen taking the reins as director.

We have joined forces to create an exciting new interpretation of the iconic cult piece by Jonathan Larson that keeps to the heart of the show and bares its soul.
