Come dance with them
Come Dance With Us is a new group looking to promote Latin and ballroom dancing in Sydney’s gay and lesbian community by holding a social dance on the last Sunday of each month, starting on May 29.
It is planned as a fun, low-key event where instructors will provide half an hour of dance-step coaching before opening up to two hours of general dancing in the Latin genres of salsa, samba, rumba, cha cha and jive.
The dance coach is Frances Tinsley who has taught at JJs Dance Club, which is throwing its support behind the group. The group behind the project was in Tinsley’s class in 2009.
Solo and partnered dancers are welcome. The fun starts at 4.30pm, with the dancing starting at 5pm, at Annandale Public School, 25 Johnston St, Annandale. The cost is $10, and you’re welcome to bring your own refreshments.
