Rangers victorious in the wind
Rangers A took to the field in blustery conditions against a determined Stanmore side last weekend.
With the wind playing a key role in the match, the Rangers’ direct passing approach paid off early as they took a 3-0 advantage to half-time.
Goals from George, Koji and Viktor put the Rangers firmly on top, as the team also hit both posts and the crossbar in a great attacking display.
The Rangers played into the wind in the second half and Stanmore upped the pressure. Two fortuitous goals just after half-time put the score at 3-2 and Stanmore sensed they could get back in the game. The Rangers saw off the threat by keeping to their low direct passing game, scoring four second-half goals despite an injury to midfield anchor man Bruce.
Goals for Nick, Koji, George and Pierre sealed a comprehensive 7-2 victory against Stanmore that could have been even greater.
